Our Charity

Volunteers Foundation

All profits from the International Douglas-Young Tournament (DYT) will go to Volunteers Foundation
Founded in 2010, the foundation delivers quality educational programs in Kibera, the second-largest slum in the world. Everyone supporting the charity is a volunteer, which ensures that 100% of the funds go directly toward the programs they operate. The specific project that our profits will support is called Project Pamoja (Pamoja means “together” in Swahili).

Project Pamoja aims to build a high-quality school for children in Kibera. The principles that the Volunteers Foundation is upholding in the construction of this school are as follows:
   –  Preserving Kenyan identity
   –  Sustainability
   –  Safety and hygiene
   –  Local expertise
   –  A design centered on the emotional well-being of children and teachers
The school will also implement creative ideas and concepts to provide a best education for its students, a vision strongly supported by the DYT organizers.

To read a detailed description of Project Pamoja, please refer to the following document. For more information about the Volunteers Foundation, please visit their website.

The Volunteers Foundation is a well-structured charity with a generous management team that has also dedicated time to helping us with the International Douglas-Young Tournament. Their mission and altruism are the reasons we have chosen to support their charity.
