Our Story

The International Douglas-Young Tournament (DYT) was founded by three IB DP students from Ikast-Brande Gymnasium, Denmark. These students encountered two main problems: the lack of academic competitions in their area and the lack of international events for IB students to meet each other. Therefore, instead of accepting these facts, these students decided to take the initiative and founded the International Douglas-Young Tournament (DYT). These three students are immensely proud of the tournament they have created. It is accessible, affordable, academic, and fun. They pride themselves on making a successful tournament, always asking themselves “Would I join if I had the chance?”, the answer always being yes.

After brainstorming ideas and coming up with a detailed plan of the tournament, these students approached their IB coordinator, who loved their idea. Her role is to check over plans and give a different perspective.

The organisers are always making efforts to improve the tournament and reach as many students as possible.

Support these three students’ mission and dream by participating in the International Douglas-Young Tournament (DYT)! You will provide an opportunity for both your students and underprivileged students to excel academically.
