A Detailed Overview
What
In the presentation round, participants will create and present an oral presentation about their chosen subject. This presentation must be 5 to 7 minutes long and based on this year's prompt "At the Table". Presentation topics can be loosly related to the prompt as long as the participant explains how they are related. Participants are allowed to make and bring the following materials to help them present:
- Index cards with bullet points
- A visual presentation (PowerPoint, Canva, Google Slides…)
- Instructions will be given on how to upload it
Topic Examples
Participants are encouraged to make their topic unique and creative. Last year our prompt was "In the Club...". Feel free to look at the presentations from last year's participants below. Please remember that some of these participants did not explain the relation between the prompt and their topic on their visual presentation, but instead did so with their words.

Who
The five best participants with the highest scores in the pilot round from each school will participate in the presentation round.
All presentations are marked by subject-specific professionals. There are specific professionals for specific subjects, meaning that, as an example, the same professional who marks the biology presentations will not mark the chemistry presentations.
Teacher Chaperones
Schools are not required to send a supervising teacher to the DYT presentation round. However, doing so is highly recommended for the following reasons:
- Teacher chaperones can book flights and hotels for participants who are under 18
- Teacher chaperones can supervise your students during the round
- Teacher chaperones can supervise your students outside the tournament’s venue, as we are not responsible for any participants outside of the venue
- Teacher chaperones can have a fun weekend in our host country and connect with other teachers around the world
Each school can bring a maximum of two teacher chaperones to the in-person presentation round. Each teacher must pay a 15$ fee to attend: this fee covers food, costs of running the tournament for teacher chaperones, and a small donation to our charity. This fee can be paid by the teacher chaperones themselves or the school, this is the school's decision.
