About Us
Our Story
The International Douglas-Young Tournament (DYT) was founded by three IB DP students from Ikast-Brande Gymnasium, Denmark. These students encountered two main problems: the lack of academic competitions in their area and the lack of international events for IB students to meet each other. Therefore, these students decided to take the initiative and founded the International Douglas-Young Tournament (DYT). These three students are immensely proud of the tournament they have created. It is accessible, affordable, academic, and fun. They pride themselves on making a successful tournament, always asking themselves “Would I enjoy this?”.
After brainstorming ideas and coming up with a detailed plan of the tournament, these students approached their IB coordinator, who loved their idea. Her role is to check over plans and give a different perspective.
For the second edition of DYT, two of the original three co-founders and a previous student ambassador are now the heads of DYT.
Support these three students’ mission and dream by participating in the International Douglas-Young Tournament (DYT)!
